The bride, 27, and the bridegroom, 32, are actors who met in 2002 while touring with a children’s theater show called “Ellis Island,” produced by American Family Theater in Philadelphia. They performed together in “Tradition!,” a play written by the bridegroom that they produced at the New York International Fringe Festival in 2006.
The bride, who will continue to use her name professionally, is the founder and the executive director of Arts for All, a nonprofit organization in New York that provides art workshops to low-income, disabled and hospitalized children. She graduated from New York University.
Her father, who is retired, worked in Washington as the chairman and chief executive of MCI, the telecommunications company; after WorldCom acquired MCI in 1998, he became the non-executive chairman of the combined company.
The bridegroom is an executive assistant for an international sales strategy group at AllianceBernstein, an investment management company in Manhattan. He is on the board of Arts for All, and teaches theater for the organization. He graduated from N.Y.U.
His mother works in Bridgeport, N.J., as a buyer for VWR International, a distributor of scientific laboratory equipment and supplies in West Chester, Pa. His father, who is retired, worked at VWR as a researcher of competitors’ products.
